Kris Allen...American Idol

I didn't watch a single episode of American Idol this time around, but happened upon this today.

Back from Texas...

Kiley and I were able to visit our friends, The Thevaos', in San Antonio this month. We had a great time! It was great to see them again. It was like it had only been a few days. Kiley and Laura were fast friends again. I have much more to post on our visit, but for now, here are some pictures of their house. They have been through a lot with this house. As they were renovating the kitchen, they had a fire that require they move out for repairs. They are back in and it's looking good! Anna has even planted a garden and seems to have a green thumb. We enjoyed her first squash from the garden. It was so good we had to fight the kids for it.

Pictures 1 and 2 are the left and right side of their huge sunroom. The left side will be the family room, and the right side the school room (but it's the master bedroom right now)

Day 5 - Hanging out

Our last day in San Antonio we just stayed around the house and spent time together. It was great catching up with Anna. It really was like time hadn't passed. The girls giggled and played. Kiley liked pretending Timmy was her little brother. He really warmed up to her over the week. We hope to go back soon! Thanks Anna and Ted for having us at such a busy season (especially for Ted getting that bathroom door hung!).

Day 4 - San Antonio Zoo

We had so much fun. Now, as I'm looking over these pictures, I'm so grateful we were able to go and spend time with our friends. I hope we can do it again! Day 4 was spent at the San Antonio Zoo. It was a fun and full day. This was an awesome zoo. Lots of pictures to share. I think this was the kids favorite day. Although they enjoyed just hanging out at the house and playing and giggling!

During our lunch at the zoo, one of the kids put down a spoon of peanut butter, and this little squirrel ran up and grabbed it. The kids loved it and he entertained us during our lunch. He came within inches of us!

There's one picture of a money of some sort biting the bars. This little guy was growling (I didn't even know monkey's growl) and would leap at the kids and bite the bars. It was really strange and erie!

Day 3 - Riverwalk and The Alamo

We kept busy! On day three we went to see the Riverwalk and tour the Alamo. Both were great. I was surprised that the Alamo was right in the middle of downtown San Antonio! I always envisioned it being on the outskirts of town, on sandy ground..kinda like you think of a ranch. It wasn't! You can walk straight up from the Riverwalk and it's there among all the tall buildings (although the tall buildings aren't really that tall).
