Dance Concert

June 6th was the girls dance concert. It was Ashlyn's first time on stage...she was very happy up there! Here are some pictures, some with their good friends Meghan and Elizabeth. Once with my nephew Seth. They all did wonderful. I love the dance program they are in.










As part of the dance ministry team, sometimes the girls dance at outreach events. The next day Kiley and 5 other girls danced at an outreach at an under-privileged apartment complex. Their music stopped working but the girls did great!! They were spot on with their movements and it looked so beautiful.

All people should have brown skin....

My conversation with Ashlyn tonight as I was lotion-ing her up after bath time.

Ashlyn - "All people should have brown skin"

Mom - "Oh yea, why is that?"

Ashlyn - "Because people need brown skin"

Mom - "But you don't have brown skin"

Ashlyn - "My skin is turning brown" (she is getting tan lines from her bathing suit)

Mom - "Mom doesn't have brown skin"

Ashlyn - "Yes you do"

Mom - "Kiley doesn't have brown skin"

Ashlyn - "Her skin is turning brown too"

Mom - "Daddy doesn't have brown skin"

Ashlyn - "No, but maybe someday he will"

Strawberry Picking

Believe it or not, this was our first strawberry picking adventure. The girls were done picking within about 15 minutes. Since we waited until the end of May, most of the strawberries had been picked. Lineberger's was a nice farm though. They don't spray all their fields, so we can do without those chemicals! They also had a park and an area in the woods for the kids to play. We made strawberry jam with some of the strawberries and ate on the rest for a few days. Strawberries are one of our favorites!

Once again, we accompanied the Morales girls. I see a pattern here!

Carowinds

2nd Annual Carowinds Memorial Day
For the second year in a row we went to Carowinds with the Morales' on Memorial Day. We had a great time! I didn't get any pictures except at the water park area...so this is all I have!

Park and Pizza

For the past few years, we get together with our friends, the Moore's for Pizza! Brittany is Kiley's first friend (although somehow I don't have a picture of them together at the park). They've known each other for about 8 years! For them, that's a lifetime! The girls earn Pizza Hut Book it coupons for reading and we go together whenevery we can.

You should see the waitresses when 2 moms and 9 kids show up for pizza (I had two extra this day)...all 8 and under! We have a great time. This time we met at the park first...so it was Park and Pizza day!

Highland Games

We went to the Highland games where big boys threw giant logs and stuff. There were lots of booths where you could try and trace your Scottish roots. We found out that Tweed was not it's own clan, but associated with Tweedside. Here is a picture of the fabric (I know it has a name besides fabric, but can't think of it right now) associated with Tweedside.

Firestation fieldtrip

Make a note: Do NOT check out the Curious George video from the library from the 70's. The firemen take George to jail (or the dungeon as Ashlyn calls it) after he calls 911 when there wasn't an emergency!!!! She was terrified of firemen after this video!

We took a fieldtrip to the fire station with our homeschool group! It was lots of fun. The kids all had a great time and Ashlyn is no longer afraid of firemen! WHOO HOO!

WOW....I'm behind! Easter....

I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted! I just downloaded pictures from my camera. I'll try and update slowly....

Here are some more pictures from Easter. Our very good friends (who just happened to all be sick with whooping cough) left an easter egg hunt in our yard for the girls to find Easter morning. They had a great time!

Egg Hunt

Our church held and Egg Hunt outreach event. I didn't get many pictures of Kiley since she was in the big kid section. Most of them are of Ashlyn and her friend Emma, Emma's sister Bella and mom Darla.
