Day 2 - King William

Next we went for a walk in the King William district of San Antonio. These houses back up to the Riverwalk and are georgeous. Love the architecture!

Day 2 - PBS

Our second day in San Antonio, we went straight from church to the PBS Young Writers and Illustrators contest reception. Laura entered for the 2nd year. Last year she won first place and won a computer. This year she won 2nd place, which included a Didj and a Crammer (both Leapfrog electronics). It was nice to be able to share that moment with the Thevoas'. The special guest there was Steve, from Steve songs. He was very entertaining!

San Antonio Day 1

Our first day in San Antonio, we took it easy and then went to Gruene, TX. One of the first towns, I think? It was really a neat little place.

Then there are pictures of the girls putting on a Indian dance, complete with forehead dots and Laura throwing tissues while Audrey spritzed water in the air and Kiley carrying bananas on her head. The other one is a mexican dance....complete with Laura's permanent marker mustache. They put on dances from all different countries the entire time we were there.

San Antonio Travel Day

Kiley was a little excited and giggly the entire trip to San Antonio. That girl can TALK! During our layover we stopped to eat and she was hamming it up for the camera. She was even joking the waitress. She was given her drink with a straw that still had the paper on the end. As she started to sip she looked at the waitress very seriously and said "it tastes like paper". The waitress got a laugh out of it.

Earth Day

For Earth Day we took a field trip with our CC group to the Energy Explorium at Duke Power. The had The Animal Guy come with many of his animals. It was very interesting and one of our favorites. Kiley left wanting a blue tongued skink for a pet. The Animal Guy suggested it as a pet since she is allergic to cats and dogs. I won't even go into it, except to say, they have sharp teeth!

Easter 2009

After church I tried to get some pictures of the girls and Seth in their Easter clothes. We got a few before having to go home after a skinned up foot Ashlyn got after chasing seth on the sidewalk.

We had dinner at the Morales', including my favorite, asparagus!

Keepers at Home

This year Kiley has been a part of a Keepers at Home group with her friends. It's been great, especially since it keeps her in touch with her friends that live closer to the church. Keepers is basically a christian version of girl scouts. Here are some pictures from candle making.

They have been learning about serving others and "considering others as more important than themselves" this year. For their end of year party, they had a tea party where they served all the younger siblings. They did a great job, I hope to have more pictures (once I get them from someone).

Ashlyn's 5th Birthday

It's official, no more pre-schooler in our house. We had to change our plans for Ashlyn's birthday. We were planning a trip to VA to visit my parents, but my mom was sick. So we had an quick ChuckECheese party a few days later.
